Callings!

Well, i'm proud to say I have gotten my first calling since we have been married! Luke has had a few callings in the mean time, but I have yet to have one until now! The bishopric all decided to come over and greet us into the ward, they are absolutely so nice and welcoming in our new ward we are so excited to be in this ward. And we were telling them how we are painfully shy, but if people come up to us we are more outgoing and excited to talk. The bishop slyly went into saying that he has a way to make us more outgoing by giving us a calling to be sacrament meeting greeters ;) This is going to be a challenge for us which is just a testiment that this calling came straight from the Lord! First, we are very shy when it comes to meeting peopl eso it is going to make use introduce ourselves to people. And second, we have a bad problem of getting to church on time, and now we will have to be TEN minutes early! So, it is going to be a challenge but we are super excited to be part of this ward and already be so welcomed!

DeCiSiOnS dEcIsIoNs!

Goodness! Life is so full of decisions that I can't make! Right now I'm going through the dilemma of if I should cut my hair or not and also if I should dye it!
If I cut it, it would mainly be just my bangs, and if I dye it I would want it either red, or dark brown with red streaks. The other dilemma is if I should do all of this before or after my surgery. Phew, just all of you beware you will never know what to expect the next time you see me!

Mawwage is what bwings us toogewther tooday!

I just wanted to take a few moments and express my gratitude for having John Luke in my life! I honestly don't know what I would do without him! Throughout today I had so many stomach pain attacks, emotional spikes (yelling one minute, crying the next) and he was a constant for me. I am so very grateful for all that he does for me and every time he helps me out. Especially this weekend when we were watching our five nieces and nephews he was absolutely amazing! His birthday is coming up on Saturday and unfortunately we are not going to be able to do much since my surgery is on Friday. Then he is leaving for Atlanta on Monday and I won't see him again until Thursday! I wake up every morning and realize that I have fallen in love with him all over again, and I somehow love him even more than the day before.

Exciting Times!

Well, this weekend was very exciting! It of course started with Thanksgiving at the families, it was SUPER yummy and we were lucky enough to have the Jensen family with us there also! Luke had lots of fun and said that he wished he would have eaten more (which we all know he could do!)
Then, we went and visited Luke's family for a little bit and then came home and hit the sack, which was nice that we weren't camping out anywhere for some amazing deal on something we don't really need. Then, I unfortunately had to work on Friday, but I got off earlier in the evening and Keri and Chris brought over all of their kids. Yes, we were parents to five for the weekend! We first went to McDonalds, and played on the playland and had happy meals, totally yummy.
Then, we rented Kung Fu Panda and all the kids watched it with Luke while I worked on homework. I hope they had fun!
Then the boys all camped out in the living room and the girls slept with me in our bedroom. Then, after an eventful night for Luke with Brandon having an accident all over the bathroom, and several whispers in the night asking what noises were and telling him his pillow was cold and then warm, we woke up and the kids got to eat Lucky Charms, which kid doesn't like that?

Then, the younger kids went outside and played on the playground with Luke while me and Heidi stayed inside the nice warm house! Then, they played Mario Kart while I got ready. Then we loaded up the kids and the gear and took them home so Travis could go to a party at Chuck E Cheeses. Then we were crazy, or really nice and took them all to the mall, where I watched jealously Heidi get some amazing deals on some really cute clothes!

Then we ended the day with looking some cars and eating at Nelsons, yummy! Then today we went to our ward for real for the first time and we absolutely LOVED our new ward! Everyone was very friendly and introduced themselves and we had a really good Christmas program that really got me in the spirit of Christmas.

Now, me and Luke are putting up our Christmas decorations and watching Christmas movies! How fun!

Surgery!

Well, I got the results back from the doctor! He said that I have several gallstones, so I need to have surgery asap. I scheduled it for December 5, unfortunately that was the next time available and it is the day before Luke's birthday. I am so super scare because I have never had surgery before, and don't know what to expect! But, I will keep you all updated :)

What a weekend!

Hello my fellow bloggers! I just got through a very interesting weekend. It started with Luke going to Phoenix, which was easier than I thought it was going to be, I kept very busy and stayed at my mom's the whole weekend. But, on Saturday I woke up with a really bad pain in my stomach and and felt like I needed to throw up, so I had to call into work. Then, the whole weekend I was sick to my stomach constantly! So, I called up a doctor this morning and scheduled an appointment. He is pretty much positive that I have gallbladder disease, so I'm going in tomorrow to get an ultrasound to make sure and then have surgery after that. Luke was absolutely amazing and sat with me the whole time and is constantly helping me get through my bad pains. I am so super nervous to have my first surgery, but I would much rather not be sick constantly!

It's a first!

So, for the first time in the two years we have been married we are going to be spending time away from each other! Luke is going to Phoenix for a pistol shooting competition from today until Saturday night. I can't believe we have gone two years without spending a night away from each other. And again in less than a month he is going to Atlanta for work for four days! I'm going to try to be a brave little wife and stay home all by my lonesome. But, I really hate being alone, I get super bored so I might end up at my mom's house. :)

Hoorah! It is the moment we've been waiting for! Here are some pictures from our lovely new apartment. Please ignore the dishes and clutter, it's my day off and I should really be cleaning but don't really want to...Also, sorry some of them are sideways, I'm not the greatest with computers. So, I hope you enjoy them!

This is our washroom, we are hoping to get a dryer soon, but it goes in the office

This is the only view of the office you get to see because we are in the process of organizing it still

This is our bathroom, not a lot of storage room so we had to be creative.
This is another view of the bathroom, it is the first apartment where we can take longer than a 3 minute shower and not run out of hot water.

This is our bed, lots and lots of pillows :)

This is our dresser! We were nervous that we weren't going to be able to fit this because it is so big, bu we didn't want to break up the set. So we made it work!

This is one of the walls in our living room, it looks kind of cool when you look in the mirror and see a different color (and me taking the picture). We think that it is a bathroom light that is above the picture, and this is the only light in the room other than our floor lights. :)

This is our marvelous kitchen! We do not have our kitchen table anymore, and YES we know that there was probably room, but we really didn't want it anymore.

This is the opposite wall in the living room. My marvelous mama found us this couch for 50.00 and it's a futon ( I have no idea how to spell that. )

This is the last picture, and yes that is Gilmore girls on the T.V. and a chargers ball on top of the movies.

So, I hope you all enjoyed the photos!

Voting! Promotion!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to announce some good news, I voted for the first time ever today! Hoorah! There was no line, so it was an awesome experience, but I felt like I had no idea what i was doing. Also, we got some exciting news from Luke's boss, he is getting a promotion at work that will mean he is a district manager or something like that, but it's a big deal! It's going to almost triple our income, which is huge. Plus he gets to travel a lot because part of his territory is in Idaho, and he is going to Atlanta in December for a big conference. So, he is super excited. At first, he was told he didn't get it and they were going with someone else, but then something happened that it fell through so then they chose him. Last piece of news, would be that U of U plays TCU on Thursday, and we are sure that we are going to win and show BYU up! So, I'm sorry I still don't have any pictures of our new apartment, I normally just take them with my phone, but the lighting isn't the best in our home, so I have to do it with our real camera, which needs batteries. I know, it's a simple thing, but we haven't got any yet, so stay tuned and hopefully I'll get them up in the next couple of days.

Home is where the heart is!

I just have to tell you guys how much we love our new home! We still haven't completely unpacked all of our junk, I wish we could just throw out everything that we haven't unpacked yet! What else do you need besides, clothes, food and a TV? Well, I'm just sitting here on our couch in our roomy living room surfin the web and bloggin! What can be better? I saw some super cute halloweeners walkin around the complex today and it made me so excited for Halloween that is just a week away! I can't believe how time flies when you aren't really keeping track ;) Hopefully I will get the rest of our house unpacked and hang our pictures so I can take some pics and show you guys why I am so excited for our super cozy home with purple carpets. Me and Luke have such a big decision to make this weekend, He was offered a promotion at work, which means he himself would be making more than we made combined last year! But, it also means cutting down the hours at school and some travel. (paid for of course) It's such a hard decision in these times whether it is worth it or not! But, We both just have to remember that no matter what we are going to have each other and like I said, who needs more than clothes food and a TV? I guess we could even do without a TV and trade it for a roof over our heads ;) Anywho, It's a hard decision but with much prayer and consideration I'm sure that we will know what choice to make!

I'm back! :)

Okay, I'm doing a lot better! What woman doesn't have an emotional roller coaster? It's my day off and I'm planning on getting a lot done and hanging with Luke. I'm so excited, and it's a new day to try out my positive attitude. Me and Luke talked a long time about it, and I really need to focus on the things that are so great in my life instead of the little things that don't really matter. I need to focus more on my marriage, the gospel and just being happy! So, I'm back and I'm ready to have a fun day with lots of things accomplished.

Life....

Wow, sometimes life is so hard and you don't even want to keep going with what you are doing! I'm almost at that point, you know when you have those days when you just want to hang your head and cry? I feel lucky that I have the things that I do and that Luke is my husband, but sometimes other things just come and overwhelm you and you feel like you are stuck in a mode and you can't get out, you can't be your normal self because this sadness is overwhelming. I know, it sounds horrible, I really will be okay. I just need to vent it to someone and who else than my fellow bloggers? We love our new apartment, but I wish I could just really learn to live life to the fullest and take every day as it comes and take it as a great adventure. But, easier said than done. Anywho, I have to get back to my finals and unpacking my house. Stay tuned for the emotional roller coaster and hopefully soon it will be up!

USA!!!

Yes, it is official we are the new proud residents of University Student Apartments (but they like to but USA all over everything) and we are so super excited! We started painting today and it looks absolutely amazing, we haven't completely finished it yet, so tomorrow me and mama are going to pack up the house while Luke and hopefully his friend finish up the apartment. But, it is a super cute apartment with purple carpet and two bedrooms, which is better than what we have now! We can't wait to get out of our current apartment and start out completely new! So, stay tuned and hopefully I'll get some pics up of the new place :)

Apartments.....

I know it may sound crazy but I am super excited to move this weekend! I took Thursday, Friday and Saturday off so we could paint, pack and move! This is probably going to be our last place of residency for a while so we want to make it comfortable. Thus, as soon as Luke, my artistic husband, found out that we could paint our new apartment he immediately almost burst at the seams with excitement. So hopefully our budget can fit a couple of cans of paint, and a lot of tender loving care is going to go into preparing this apartment. Then on Friday while the paint dries we are planning on packing like crazy all day Friday to prepare for the marvelous people that are planning on helping us on Saturday with the actual move! We are mostly excited because The Pie is going to be delivered right to our door! Which is probably not so good with my diet! Also, we are excited to have a working heater again! Me and Luke are very crazy people and we weren't planning on using our heater before we moved so we could save some money, but our landlords came in and "prepared" our heater for winter a while ago and despite the fact that the thermostat said that it wasn't on it was constantly running and our house was abnormally hot! So, we couldn't figure out how to turn it off other than to turn the pilot off and switch off the breaker...yes we are crazy! But, now little did we know it was going to get freakishly cold and snow! So we have depended on layering our clothing and heaters throughout the house to get us through until we move into a toasty apartment! We are both super excited to be able to de-junk our house and start out new! We are sad to find out that we can only have a 110 volt dryer, which at first didn't sound too bad...but today we looked into it and found out how bad it really is. We talked to a guy at RC Willey and as soon as we mentioned it he asked if we were moving in the University of Utah Student Housing, and he said they are ridiculously priced usually between four and five hundred dollars and it takes around three to four hours to dry a load of clothes. So we are still deciding what we are going to do on the laundry front, but we are still super stoked for the new adventure. Luke, of course is going to miss his Young Men from our ward and I am going to miss everyone from the relief society, but we are looking forward to starting out new and getting to know some people! So, stay tuned for the craziness to come....

The weekend!

Hoorah for the weekend! It was only a three day week for me but it felt like a lot longer! I have another three day week ahead of me and then we are going to be facing the large task of moving! Luckily for us we realized after already planning on moving this week, that Luke has the whole week off of school! So, he is going to be able to help a lot with working more and packing up our house. We are just praying for good weather, and lots of help with little complication. The worse part of moving, I think is cleaning! I hate cleaning the house and then moving out, because I think that is the cleanest my house has ever been since we moved in :) Anywho, hopefully we can get everything figured out with our car this weekend, because we already got one ticket for not having our registration updated, and hopefully we will sell Luke's car sooner than later.....

WHY?!?!?!?!?!

Why do I have to procrastinate on everything? I am sitting here trying to homework that was actually do yesterday, kicking myself because it is hurting my grades. I was having a conversation with Luke this morning because neither of us got out homework done last night and we were up until midnight, then we slept in and i missed the bus and Luke didn't get to shooting practice on time. Anywho! We were both beating ourselves up because all of this and I was thinking that really, I have hear this plenty of times....but it is our attitude from the things that happens to us that bring us down, not the actual trials. For instance, instead of waking up and thinking that because I missed my bus my whole day is going to be horrible and then going into work with a negative attitude, then in turn having the calls that I am taking make me even more down, and then come home and stuff my face like I always do when I am down and becoming even more down...etc, I can instead have a positive attitude and then not let the little things get me down and ruin my day! So, lesson of the day is to stay positive and count your blessings!

First day off of work!

Hello again! Well, yesterday was a great day off of work! It started off with me and Keri going up to Tenille's house and surprising her with our beautiful faces! Then, all of us went to Wendy's to have some lunch, because despite the fact that we didn't get there until almost one o'clock, Tenille still hadn't eaten lunch! Then, we cam back and visited for a while at Tenille's adorable apartment, but sadly our time was short and sweet and we had to get back home so Keri could attend to her kids and I could get my marvelous dinner ready for Luke. So, we headed back home with Brandon in the back freaking out because we were "going over the mountains" and wanting to know when we would be off of them. And Katie trying with all of her might to get comfortable and go to sleep in the back. Then, after I dropped them off I scurried around to get everything ready for my surprise dinner for Luke on our anniversary! :) It wasn't anything too special, but I did get balloon's (blue and yellow for our wedding colors), candles and a rotisserie chicken, which is Luke's absolute favorite. So, that was really special and I am so glad that I am married to him because we have so much fun together! I will post the pictures that I took a little bit later so stayed tuned!

Relaxation!

I am so excited because I have tomorrow and Tuesday off! I love being able to take days off and just relax, even if it doesn't necessarily mean complete laziness. I am planning on starting the dreaded chore of packing for our move next weekend. But, I am excited to start out new with a clean, organized house, and hopefully painted walls! Anywho, I only work three days a week for the next two weeks so that will be heavenly! Then, i'll have to go back to the real world of five day work weeks, but i'll be very well rested!

Winter!

I know some people are not very excited about the soon change in seasons! I'm sure eventually i'll be waiting very impatiently for summer to come back eventually...but for right now i'm so excited for the winter! I just love cuddling up with a blanket and a good book or movie and just watching the snow fall. Plus, lately we have taken up snowboarding, well at least Luke has, i'm officially an expert at going down the hill backwards, but i'm still excited to use my board! Plus, soon it will be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Valentines! Plus, I think Luke's birthday is in there somewhere. I heard on the news that they were expecting two feet of snow this weekend up in the mountains, so say goodbye to these unusually high tempatures!

Car Registration!

Wow, one piece of advice from me....don't wait until the last day of the month to get your car inspected! I felt bad for the guys that inspected my car and had to tell me....REJECTED! So, in 15 days I have to get a new windshield, my dad (the hero) got me a new windshield wiper fluid pump, and Chris (my other hero) is hopefully going to help us find a new dashboard or something with hazards on it so we don't have to take the bus everywhere! Phew, don't wait to the last minute, I promise it is not worht it!

Hello!

Well, here I am spending my day off starting my blog! Hopefully my sisters are happy! My name is Natalie and my husband's name is Luke. We live in Salt Lake City and we are both currently going to school and working, yes it is crazy! I am going to University of Phoenix Online working towards an Associates in Human Services and Luke is going to University of Utah working towards...well we aren't sure it changes every once in a while, hee hee. We have been married since October 6, 2006 and are still lovin eachother!
